Swedish Death Cleaning and Why It's Not as Morbid as You Think

Swedish Death Cleaning is a relatively new concept that came into public consciousness early this year.  Margareta Magnusson, author of the book, "The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning: How to Make Your Loved Ones’ Lives Easier and Your On Life More Pleasant," introduced us to the concept that if you are reaching middle or late age, that you start getting rid of your stuff, so that no one else has to do it for you when you pass away. This might sound morbid, but it isn't as morbid as you may think. Do you want your children or kids to go through your junk drawer next to your bedside cabinet or throw your items into a giant skip instead of donating them to a worthwhile charity you support?  I have been doing this type of cleaning with more and more clients recently and they find it cathartic as well more pleasant for them as they have less clutter in their homes. Decluttering was not a concept they grew up with, so doing it now can be unnerving but eventually enjoyable. To find out more about Swedish Death Cleaning and how to use the concept to start decluttering items in your life click on play in the player below or in your podcasts players.
