Decluttr Session - Kitchen and Pantry - part 2
I recently reorganised a kitchen and pantry. There was very little decluttering required for these two rooms but organisation of items to ensure like items were stored together. This was the pantry before: This was the pantry after it was reorganised: The food items were placed in various places within the pantry and kitchen. The multiple items such as oils, hot sauces, jams & marmalade and bulk items such as tea, sugar and salt were reorganised and stored in separate Samla boxes (5l) and labelled for easy access. The fruit and vegetables were stored in lovely little woven baskets (you can most probably purchase these in the Africa section in Global Village right now) so they were easy to move to the "food area". The ingredients used to make Italian dishes got their own smaller Samla box and the dates were stored at the top of the shelf. Pickles, rice, nuts, flour and bulk items were stored in the next shelf: The remaining bulk items and multiple jugs were stored in the next shelf for continuity: All serving dishes were stored on one shelf together. The white basket contained wash towels before. They were moved to a cupboard in the kitchen and the basket was filled with tissues boxes: Remaining dishes and electronics were stored together: The final area contained a serving set, special utensils used for cooking (stored in another Samla) and baking items were stored in a Samla (5l) and labelled: Time prevailing the vases would have been organised more, but the client was advised on the best way to organise them moving forward.Onto the kitchen:The client had requested for all the spices previously stored in bags and in various sized jars to be stored and labelled properly, so we went from this: To this: All the "Korken" jars can be purchased in Ikea. For this session we bought 0.5l, 1l and the Spaghetti jar. The little jars of herbs were stored in a white basket from Daiso. The handle is useful reaching for the basket when needed. We also put pulses in labelled jars: Baking items were stored in their own cupboard near the cooker: The oil, tins and miscellaneous items needed for cooking were stored in another cupboard next to the cooker: The glass cups were stored, utilising more of the cupboard space: Breakfast items now have their own cupboard (including the lovely biscuits): Finally we stored the unused storage containers in its own cupboard with cling film and aluminium foil: Now there is ample space in both the pantry and kitchen to store items in an organised manner as the household grows. Rewarding day. :)We are here to help you declutter and organise your home and office if you need help in starting the decluttering process. Why not contact us to discuss your decluttering and organisation needs and book an appointment today.
